Florida paycheck FAQ

Does Florida have a state income tax?

No. Florida is one of the states with no personal income tax, so the only taxes taken from a Florida paycheck are federal income tax, Social Security and Medicare.

How is federal withholding figured?

This calculator follows the IRS's 2026 percentage method for a 2020-or-later Form W-4 with standard withholding: your annualized pay, less pre-tax deductions and the standard deduction for your filing status, run through the 2026 brackets, minus $2,200 per child and $500 per other dependent.

Why might my real paycheck differ?

Employers may round differently, and other items such as HSA or dependent care contributions, garnishments, extra withholding or a second job (W-4 Step 2) change the numbers.

2026 figures: IRS Publication 15-T percentage method, Social Security wage base $184,500, additional Medicare tax withholding above $200,000. Estimates only.
